Judge Robert Richter of Missouri City, TX; dimwitted scofflaw

The State of Texas provided Robert Richter with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from Baylor University School of Law.

The State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Judge Richter guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to act in manner promoting public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary
  • Failed to maintain competence in the law (dimwit)
  • Failed to release an officer of the court (attorney) on his own personal recognizance pending a determination of his guilt or innocence regarding a contempt action
  • Failed to assure that contempt motion was served on attorney
  • Signed an arrest warrant for an attorney without first providing the attorney with advance notice of an evidentiary hearing to be held on a contempt motion (aka, due process)

Apparently, Bobby is of the firm belief that "due process" is the means by which the grass becomes moist in the a.m.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary public warning and order of additional education.

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Bobby continues to sit as a Municipal Court Judge in Missouri City, Fort Bend County, Texas
