Former Judge Gregory McCloskey of Moorestown, NJ; ethical troll

The state of New Jersey provided Gregory Richard McCloskey with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Widener University School of Law.

The Supreme Court of New Jersey Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct found Greg guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a Mount Laurel Municipal Court judge.

  • Engaged in illegal (ex parte) communications concerning a pending or impending criminal proceeding
  • During criminal trial, Greg directed the prosecutor to ask certain questions of State witnesses concerning issues relevant to the State’s case and critical to the defense
  • Greg demonstrated a partiality for one of the parties, displayed an interest in the outcome of the case, and denied the concerned defendant a fair trial (aka, due process)
  • Failed to act at all times in a manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity and
  • impartiality of the judiciary
  • Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
  • Failed to perform judicial duties impartially
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Greg by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Greg practices his brand of law at 405 East Main Street in Moorestown, New Jersey.
