Attorney Gilberto Garcia of Maywood, NJ; liar, repeat offender

The state of New Jersey presented Ernest F. Friedman with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law. 

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Gil guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Gil’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

• Engaged in conflict of interest
• Represented wife and husband in litigation
• Used privileged information against the husband
• Engaged in an impermissible fee-sharing arrangement with the husband, who was not an attorney

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Gil by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Gil’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

• Misconduct was reprehensible
• Made egregious misrepresentations
• Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions
• about the representation
• Failed to set forth in writing the rate or basis of his legal fee
• Made false or misleading communications about his services

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Gil by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Gil failed to disclose the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.laleynj.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal said relevant facts from prospective clients to prevent limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Gil practices his brand of law with The Law Office of Gilberto Garcia at 25 East Spring Valley in Maywood, New Jersey.
