Attorney Robert F. Carbone of Bakersfield, CA; thief

The state of Calfiornia presented Robert Francis Carbone with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Pepperdine University Law School.

The State Bar Court found Robert guilty of the following misconduct in regards to at least three client matters:
  1. Refused to refund and unearned fees (thief)
  2. Failed to respond to Bar investigator’s inquiries
  3. Failed to respond to client inquiries
In one case Bobby was paid a $4,500 retainer. When he was canned he only refunded $2,500 of the amount he owed the client. It wasn’t until the client filed an ethics complaint against him that Bob paid him the other $1,470 he owed.

In another case involving a guardianship matter for his clients’ grandson, Bobby refused to refund them $1,080 in unearned fees. Again, Bobby only refunded the unearned fees when the clients filed an ethics complaint against him.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the admirers of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Calfiornia Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a two-year term of probation. In other words, Bobby didn’t really receive any punishment, which certainly wasn’t the case for his multiple victims.

As we speak (ca. May 2012) Bobby practices law at the law offices of Robert F. Carbone at 1304 L Street in Bakersfield.
