Judge Jere Ledsinger of Manchester, TN; ethical goblin

The state of Tennessee presented William Paul Greenaway with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law.

The Tennessee Board of Judicial Conduct found Judge Ledsinger guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Made improper remark about Tennessee Supreme Court’s orders that masks be worn in court in response to the coronavirus pandemic
  • Stated in open court to a courtroom audience, “The Grand Wizard of our Supreme Court said we have to wear masks.”
  • Comments about Grand Wizard undermined public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the legal process

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Judge Ledsinger by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Ledsinger continues to sit as a Coffee County General Sessions in Manchester, Tennessee.
