Judge Richard Howard of Inverness, FL; ethical troll

The State of Florida provided Richard Howard with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from Stetson University School of Law.

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission found Dick guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

FYI: Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was duped into appointing Dick as a Circuit Court Judge in 2000. Dick did not receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Citrus County area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

• Attempted to dissuade a judicial candidate to abandon her campaign against one incumbent judge, he then subsequently
• attempted to persuade the candidate to run against a different judge
• Improperly advised an attorney to run against another judge
• Failed to uphold the integrity and independence of the judiciary
• Dick’s actions created the appearance of impropriety
• Dick’s conduct failed promote public confidence in the impartiality of the judiciary
• Improperly used prestige of his judicial position in favor of the private interest of Judge Angeliadis

As a direct consequence of this misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Dick continues to sit as a Citrus County District Court judge in Inverness, Florida.
