Judge Bruce Winters of Port Clinton, OH; ethical troll

The State of Ohio provided Bruce Alan Winters with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of Toledo School of Law.

The University of Toledo Law School is ranked as the 149^th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

FYI: Bruce has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past thirty-two (32) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Port Clinton, Sandusky area was about to offer him a good paying job.

The Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Bruce guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Always failed to act in a manner that promotes public confidence in the independence, integrity, and impartiality of the judiciary
• Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
• Engaged in illegal ex parte [one-sided] communications
• Failed to promptly notify the parties of the substance of the ex parte communication and to provide the parties with an opportunity to respond
• Failed to disqualify himself when his impartiality might reasonably be questioned
• Repeatedly spoke ex parte with defendant Keith Blumensaadt charged with aggravated menacing, fifth degree felony, resisting arrest, fourth degree felony, inducing panic, first degree misdemeanor, six counts of possessing weapons under disability, third degree felonies, and three counts of unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance, fifth degree felonies
• Bruce was the assigned judge on Keith’s felony cases when he engaged in numerous ex parte communications with him

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Bruce by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Bruce continues to sit as an Ottawa County Court of Common Pleas judge in Port Clinton, Ohio.
