U.S. Judge Sheryl Lipman of Memphis, TN; advocate for pervert

The state of Oregon presented Sheryl Halle Lipman with a law license in 1987 after she graduated from New York University (NYU) School of Law.

FYI: Former President Barack Obama was duped into nominating Sherly as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Tennessee in 2014. Sherly was not nominated because she was the most qualified attorney in the greater Memphis area. She received it because she had proven to be reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In one matter, Sheryl was assigned to preside over a case involving a defendant, Dane Schrank who was charged with possession of child pornography. While visiting the dark web, Schrank downloaded nearly 1,000 images of babies and toddlers “being forcibly, violently and sadistically penetrated.”

After pleading guilty to possession of child pornography, Sheryl had the chutzpah to impose a laughable sentence of 12 months of home confinement.

The U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Sheryl’s the one-year home confinement sentence ignored or minimized the severity of the offense and failed to account for general deterrence. The federal sentencing guidelines call for a sentence of 97 to 120 months in prison.

After being spanked by the appellate court for her asinine home confinement sentence, Sheryl refuse to resentence Schrank. The laughable and outrageous sentence she imposed on the Schrank was 12 months of home confinement. When the 6th Circuit Court of Appeal ruled that the sentence was substantively unreasonable, Sheryl refused to change the sentence.

Subsequently, Court of Appeal then ordered that Schrank’s ridiculous sentence be vacated and remanded the case back to the District Court with an order that it be assigned to a different judge.

As we speak (ca. September 2020), Sheryl continues to sit as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee.
