Judge Charles Vess of Natchez, MS; ethical dwarf, ethical 

 
Judge Vess has unfortunately been sitting on the Adams County Justice Court located in Natchez, Mississippi for over 20 years.  During his tenure on the bench, the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance filed misconduct charges against Charlie on three separate occasions. That misconduct is discussed below.
 
Charlie’s 3rd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree
 
While sitting on the bench in Natchz, Charlie has decided to take three (3) bites out of the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. Below is the misconduct that the Commission found Charlie guilty of in regards to his latest trip to the Misfit tree.
  1. Engaged in unlawful ex parte communications with parties appearing in his court
  2. Allowed someone who was not the defendant or the defendant’s attorney to enter a plea on the defendant’s behalf
  3. Acted in a belligerent manner towards litigants appearing in his so-called court
  4. As a consequence of his misconduct, the sympathizers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial
  5. Improperly engaged in writing personal letters of endorsement to employers of defendants who had appeared before him
  6. Violating defendants’ constitutional due process rights
  7. Engaged in willful misconduct
  8. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
As a consequence of his third bite at the Misfit Tree, the die-in-the-wool sympathizers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Judicial Commission punished Charlie by gifting him with his 3rd complimentary reprimand.
 
Charlie’s 2nd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree
 
In his initial trip to the Misfit Apple Tree, the Judicial Commission found Charlie guilty of unlawfully accepting restitution payments from a litigant on behalf of a victim and for engaging in ex parte communications. As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Commission punished Charlie by gifting him with his 2nd complimentary reprimand.
 
Charlie’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree
 
In regards to his 2nd trip to the Misfit Apple Tree, the Judicial Commission found Charlie guilty of engaging in ex parte communications with a defendant and several others involved in the pending criminal case. As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Commission punished Charlie by gifting him with his 1st complimentary reprimand.
 
As we speak (ca. May 2012) Charles remains sitting as a judge on the Adams County Justice Court in Natchez, Mississippi.
