Judge Sandra Plaster of Canton, TX; ethical goblin

The Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct found Judge Plaster guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to conduct extracurricular activities so they did not cast reasonable doubt on her capacity to act impartially as a judge
  • Improperly lent the prestige of her judicial office to advance her private interests or that of others
  • Made racially insensitive comments about people of Mexican descent in her communications with law enforcement officers
  • Used her judicial position in her vocal opposition to a solar farm being built adjacent to property she owned

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Sandy by gifting her with a complimentary public warning.

As we speak (ca. September 2020), Sandy continues to sit a Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, in Canton, Van Zandt County, Texas.
