Attorney Darryl Simpkins of Hillsborough, NJ; ethical troll

The state of New Jersey presented Darryl W. Simpkins with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Darryl guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matters
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Committed a criminal act reflecting adversely on fitness to practice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Made systematic misrepresentations [lies] to his client
  • Misconduct caused actual harm to his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Darryl by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2020) Darryl practices in Hillsborough, New Jersey.
