Attorney Duane Phillips of Absecon, NJ; serial offender

The state of New Jersey presented Duane T. Phillips with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Duane guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Continued to represent a matrimonial client during his term of suspension and failed to disclose that representation to the client

As one would suspect this was not Duane’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received one (1) complimentary admonishment, two (2) complimentary censures and one (1) 3-month suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Duane by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2020) Duane practices at 22 North Shore Road in Absecon, New Jersey.
