Judge Lynn Norton of Boise, ID; incompetent boob

The state of Idaho presented Lynn Graham Norton with a law license in 2001 after she graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law.

It should be noted that former Gov. Butch Otter was duped into appointing Barbara appointed to be a 4^th District judge in Ada County. Lynn didn’t get the appointment because she was the most qualified attorney in the greater Boise area.  She got it because she was recognized as a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

FYI: Lynn has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough over the past thirty-six (36) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Boise area was about to offer Lynn a good paying job.

In one matter, Lynn was assigned to preside over a case involving the Greater Boise Auditorium District vs. David R. Frazier, a Boise resident and property owner who objected to the District’s lease that he claimed was prohibited without voter approval that allowed for the District to incur indebtedness or liabilities greater than it had fund to pay for in a specific fiscal year.

Eventually, Mr. Frazier filed an appeal with the appellate court that led to it reversing Norton and in doing so said in part.

• “The district court erred when it held that the Centre Lease exposed the District to unconstitutional long-term liabilities, and similarly erred in denying judicial confirmation based on the overall agreement’s constitutionality.”

It goes without saying that Lynn doesn’t much give a damn when she’s overturned (rebuked in truth) by the appellate court since she is well aware that no Idaho  judge has ever been tossed off the bench for being an incompetent boob. In addition, she isn’t concerned with the cost to the taxpayers of having his asinine ruling overturned.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Lynn continues to sit as District Court Judge in Boise, Idaho.
