Attorney R. Nathan Gonzales of Silver City, NM; ethical goblin

The state of New Mexico presented R. Nathan Gonzales with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

The New Mexico Disciplinary Board found Nate guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to maintain complete records of all client funds
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct  
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to maintain clients’ funds in trust
• Failed to maintain a written trust account for at least one year
• Engaged in multiple acts of misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court punished Nate by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year term of probation.

As we speak (ca. July 2021, Nate practices with the Gonzales Law Firm at 298 South Ridge Road in Silver City, New Mexico.
