The state of Virginia presented Thomas Marshall James with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from William & Mary University the School of Law.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with clients

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 5-year suspension of his law license.
