Barrister Mariam El-Sobky of England; convicted loser

The Law Society presented Mariam Adel El-Sobky with a Barristers license in 2001 after she graduated from the University of Bristol School of Law.

The Bar Standards Board found Mary guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Behaved in a way which was likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public places in him or in the profession
  • Failed to comply with court order to £3,000 ($3,874.00) plus interest and costs to the Claimant (Up yours, said Mary!)
  • Acted in a way which could reasonably be seen by the public to undermine her honesty and/or integrity
  • Each one of her statements regarding the court order to pay £3,000 ($3,874.00) plus interest and costs was false or misleading

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Barrister Misfits sitting on the Bar Standards Board punished Mary by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand and imposed a fine of £3000 ($3,874.00).

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Mari practices at 160 Fleet Street in London, United Kingdom.
