Attorney James Donohue of Crescent, PA; thieving tax cheat

The state of Pennsylvania provided James Francis Donohue with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Misappropriated [stole] $48,066.00 of entrusted client funds in four client matters
  • Used client funds to pay for college tuition payments for his children, living expenses, office rend and employee payroll expenses
  • Has financial obligations in form of tax liens filed by the IRS totaling $42,786.44
  • Has a judgment against him in Alleghany County because of a dispute over tuition for his son’s tutoring services

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2020), Jimmy practices at 1396 Riverview Road in Crescent, Pennsylvania.
