Attorney Michael Rothman of Rockville, MD; ethical ogre

The state of Maryland provided Michael Steven Rothman with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to safeguard funds in attorney trust account
• Failed to take steps to protect his client’s interest upon termination
• Withdrew funds from his attorney trust account before they were earned
• Left his client’s file in a public area outside of his office

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Mikey fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.mikerothman.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. July 2020), Mikey practices with the Law Office of Mike Rothman at 401 East Jefferson Street in Rockville, Maryland.
