Attorney Stephen Dempsey of Summit, NJ; convicted drunk

The state of New Jersey presented Stephen P. Dempsey with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the New York School of Law. Stevie also received a law license to practice in New York in 2001.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Pled guilty to fourth-degree crime of operation of a motor vehicle during a period of a driver’s license suspension (second or subsequent violation)
• Convicted of driving under the influence (DUI)
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.  

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Stevie practices at 99 Summit Avenue in Summit, New Jersey
