Attorney Alan Kamel of Elizabeth, NJ; repeat offender

The state of New Jersey presented Alan Monte Kamel with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from St. John’s University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Alan guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions about the representation
  • Failed to communicate in writing the basis or rate of his fee
  • Failed to communicate the method by which the fee is to be determined in a contingent fee matter

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Alan’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Alan by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Alan practices at 1207 East Grand Street in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
