Judge Bernice Toledo of Paterson, NJ; ethical goblin

The state of New Jersey provided Steven Brister with a law license in 2001 after she graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law.

FYI: Bernice has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past seventeen (17) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Passaic area was about to offer a good paying job.

The Supreme Court of New Jersey Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct found Bernie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in a conflict of interest involving parties to matter before her
• Failed to recuse herself from a case when recusal was required
• Presided over matter where her impartiality might reasonably be questioned
• Appointed Mr. Stewart, a friend as administrator of an estate
• Inappropriately used her office to advance the private interests of another
• Misrepresented [lied] her relationship with Mr. Stewart to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Bernice)
• Failed to avoid impropriety or appearance of impropriety
• Failed to act in manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary
• Failed to decide cases according to the law and facts before her
• Improperly lent prestige of her judicial office to advance the personal or economic interests of herself or others

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Bernice by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. July 2020), Stevie continues to be employed as a Passaic County Surrogate Court judge in Paterson, New Jersey.
