Attorney Richard MacDowell Jr. of Fairfax, VA; ethical ogre

The state of Virginia presented Richard Farr MacDowell Jr. with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from American University School of Law.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• Engaged in prohibited transactions
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failed to perform required reconciliations of client trust accounts
• Took eight years before he refunded $1,336.70 paid as upfront fee that was owed to the client because he failed to provide any services regarding said fees

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia Bar Disciplinary Board punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Dick and fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.macdowelllawgroup.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.
