Attorney Richard Koppenaal of Hackensack, NJ; cheating loser

The state of New Jersey presented Richard David Koppenaal with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law.

FYI: University of Dayton School of Law is ranked as the 171st best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Dick guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in gross neglect of client matters
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to comply with applicable law requiring notice to or permission of a tribunal when terminating a representation
  • Failed to protect the client’s interests upon termination of the representation
  • Failed to return an unearned retainer fee (cheater)

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Dick’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Dick practices at 235 Main Street in Hackensack, New Jersey.
