Solicitor Barry O’Meara of Cork, Ireland; ethical troll

The Law Society of Ireland presented Barry G. O’Meara with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Queen’s University School of Law.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found Barry guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply expeditiously, within a reasonable time, or at all with three undertakings
  • Failed to reply adequately or at all to correspondence from the Society (Up yours, said Barry!)
  • Failed to comply adequately or at all with the directions of the Complaints and Client Relations Committee made at its meeting on 23 May 2017 (Screw you, said Barry!)
  • Failed to reply adequately or at all to the complainant’s correspondence

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal punished Barry by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment, a fine of £500 and investigative costs of £2,112.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Brendan practices with Barry G. O'Meara & Co. Solicitors at Pembroke House on Pembroke Street in Cork, Ireland.
