Solicitor Richard Hetherington of Nottinghamshire, England; bigoted loser

The Law Society presented Richard John Hetherington with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the Cardiff University School of Law.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has charged Dick guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• During a court proceeding, Dick made an inappropriate and offensive remark during an attempt to express a compliment in relation to a firm of solicitors
• Dick’s courtroom remark made reference to the ethnicity of members of the firm in question
• Failed to act with integrity
• Failed to behave in a way which maintains the trust the public places in him and in the provision of legal services
• Failed to run his business or carry out his role in a way that encourages equality of opportunity and respect for diversity

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary fine of £2,000.
