Attorney Hilliard Fazande, II of New Orleans; ethical gimp

The state of Louisiana provided Hilliard C. Fazande, II of New Orleans with a law license in 1971.

In the recent past, Disciplinary Counsel found Hilliard guilty of the following misconduct;
  1. Filed a lawsuit for a veteran v. the Army and his conduct led to the dismissal of the veteran’s lawsuit
  2. Never filed a motion for reconsideration or an appeal
  3. While representing auto accident clients, failed to file law suit thereby allowing dismissal of their claims
The hearing panel of the Counsel recommended that as punishment that Hillard’s license be suspended for one year.

When Hillard’s discipline was brought before the Supreme Court of Louisiana, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the court ignored the panel’s recommendation and punished Hilliard by gifting him with a 90-day suspension of his law license.

The non-existent punishment for Attorney Misfits meted out by the Comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court just fuels the fire of distrust and outright contempt most Louisianans feel for the Legal Industry.

As we speak (April 2012) Hilliard practices law at 1801 Short Street in New Orleans.
