Attorney Jacob Setzer of Charlotte, NC; convicted thief

The state of North Carolina presented Jacob E. Setzer with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from Wake Forest University of School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Jacob guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Misconduct involved dishonest motive
  • Entered Lowes’ Home Improvement store and purchased a power washer for $388.00
  • Used his $388.00 receipt to take two power washers from Lowes, one for which he had paid and one for which he had not paid
  • Pled guilty and was convicted of larceny
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Jacob by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Jacob practices at 1705 Logie Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina.
