Attorney Tamla Tymus of Raleigh, NC; ethical dwarf, serial offender

The state of North Carolina presented Tamla Yvette Tymus with a law license in 1996 after she graduated from North Carolina Central University of School of Law.

FYI: North Carolina Central University School of Law is ranked as the 168^th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Tamla guilty of the following misconduct.

Tamla’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to respond to petition for fee dispute resolution (Up yours, said Tamla!)
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Tamla!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Tamla by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Tamla’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Failed to return client calls, faxes and letters
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to refund any unearned fees (thief) to several individual clients
• Failed to submit written response to client fee dispute
• Failed to protect client interests upon termination
• Failed to respond to letters and phone calls from the local fee dispute committee (Up yours, said Tamla!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Tamla by gifting her with a complimentary 3-year suspension of her law license.

Tamla’s 3^rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• When applying for admission to the DC Bar falsely answered that she was not the subject of any pending charges of misconduct
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Lied in her DC application of no pending charges even though she absolutely knew there was one pending grievance and three unresolved fee disputes pending in North Carolina
• Knowingly made false statements of material fact in connection with a bar admission application

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Tamla by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

And lastly,as one would suspect, Tamla fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on her self-serving website at www.tamlatymus.com. Apparently, Tamla decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that she would not limit his future victim pool.
