Attorney Floyd McKissick Jr. of Durham, NC; ethical ogre

The state of North Carolina presented Floyd B. McKissick Jr. with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Duke University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Floyd guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Continued to engage in a conflict of interest in an estate matter that necessitated his former client to file a motion to have Floyd removed as counsel for the estate

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Floyd by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Floyd fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.floydmckissicklaw.com. Apparently, Floyd decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that he would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. June 2020) Floyd practices with McKissick & McKissick at 835 North Mangum Street in Durham, North Carolina.
