Attorney Rodney Robinson of Southern Pines, NC; ethical troll

The state of North Carolina presented Rodney W. Robinson with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Widener University School of Law.

FYI: Widener is ranked as the 170th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Rod guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to file required motion to withdraw client representation with the trial court
  • In filing personal injury lawsuit on client’s behalf, named and served the wrong defendant
  • Improperly had client sign withdrawal document that released Rodney from any potential legal malpractice liability since statute of limitations tolled on client’s personal injury claim
  • Failed to appear at court-scheduled hearing on motion to withdraw
  • Failure to appear at court hearing on withdrawal motion led the court to dismiss the client’s lawsuit

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Rod by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2020) Rod practices at 35 Tanglewood Drive in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
