Attorney Stafford Peebles Jr. of Winston Salem, NC; ethical dwarf

The state of North Carolina presented Stafford R. Peebles Jr. with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Stafford guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Allowed non-attorney to engage in the illegal practice of law
  • Encouraged non-attorney to settle claims for personal injury claims
  • Provided misleading statement to ethics investigators re: non-attorney associate engaged in practicing law (Up yours, said Stafford!)
  • Failed to register trade name with the North Carolina State Bar as required to do

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Stafford by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2020) Roy practices at 102 South Cherry Street in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
