Attorney Roy Patton Jr. of Clyde, NC; ethical troll

The state of North Carolina presented Roy H. Patton Jr. with a law license in 1969 after he graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Roy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to respond to client information requests
• Failed to notify his client his appeal had been denied
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client interests upon termination
• Failed to provide client with file upon demand, thereby causing the statutory period for the client to seek postconviction relief to expire

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Roy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2020) Roy practices at 5593 Old Clyde Road in Clyde, North Carolina.
