Attorney David Hoke of Raleigh, NC; ethical troll

The state of North Carolina presented David F. Hoke with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Wake Forest University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Davey guilty of the following misconduct. all of which took place while he was employed as an Assistant District Attorney in Wilkes County and Yadkin County.

• Failed to produce all exculpatory witness interview reports when Davey had a duty under the Rules of Profession Conduct and existing case law to know the contents of the investigation files in the possession of the state
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to make timely disclosure of all evidence or information known to the prosecution that tended to negate the guilt of the accused
• Failed to verify the accuracy of the assertion of SBI Agent Ransom that all witness statements that needed to be produced were in fact produced
• Failed to make reasonable efforts to ensure that a nonlawyers conduct over which Davey had direct supervisory authority was compatible with Davey’s professional obligations

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2020) Davey practices at 2415 Trenton Woods Way in Raleigh, North Carolina.
