Attorney Jennifer Meyer of Ankeny, IA; convicted thief, sham workaholic

 

The state of Iowa presented Jennifer L. Meyer with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Drake University Law School.

 

The Iowa Supreme Court Disciplinary Board found Jenny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Billed state public defender more than 24 hours in a day on 30 different days
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Submitted duplice reimbursement requests for mileage, attributing trips to a location to multiple clients 147 times
  • Entered an Alford plea to criminal charge of third-degree theft by deception, an aggravated misdemeanor
  • Ordered to pay nearly $103,000 in restitution

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Jenny by gifting her with a 1-year suspension of he law license effective May 15, 2020.

 

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Jenny will resume her practice with Jennifer Meyer Law PC at 121 NE 18th Street in Ankeny, Iowa in early May 2021.
