Attorney Jose Trejo of Sherman Oaks, CA; twice convicted drunken felon

 

The state of California provided Jose Angel Trejo with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law.

 

The State Bar Court found Jose guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Misconduct significantly harmed a client, the public or the administration of justice
  • Charged by LA County DA with one count of Driving Under the Influence-Causing Injury, a felony
  • Charged with one count of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, a felony
  • Charged with Driving Under the Influence Over 0.08 Percent Blood Alcohol Level-Causing Injury, a felony
  • Pled no contest [guilt in effect] respondent’s plea of nolo contendere to the count [Driving Under the Influence Over 0.08 Percent Blood Alcohol Level-Causing Injury, a felony
  • Several months later, drove a vehicle while he was intoxicated and was involved in an accident wherein the vehicle Jose was driving collided with the rear of a vehicle that was stopped in a left turn lane
  • The vehicle Jose hit was occupied by a victim in the driver’s seat and a victim in the front passenger’s seat
  • vehicle respondent collided with was occupied by a victim in the driver’s seat and a victim in the front passenger’s seat
  • After the collision, Jose failed to stop, render aid, or identify him
  • Passenger in other vehicle called police indicating she would seek medical treatment
  • After the police arrived at Jose’s house, he immediately covered the front end of his car to conceal the damage occurred when he hit the other car
  • Subsequently, Jose was arrested for driving under the influence, a felony
  • Jose later pled no contest (guilty in effect) to his second felony DUI

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California Bar Court punished Jose by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.  

 

As we speak (ca. September 2020), Jose practices at 4335 Van Nuys Blvd in Sherman Oaks, California.
