Attorney Leah Kinsey of Tulsa, OK; ethical goblin

The state of Oklahoma provided Leah McCaslin Kinsey with a law license in 1995 after she graduated from the University of Tulsa School of Law.

The Oklahoma Bar Association found Leah guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Repeatedly caused clients to be billed for work she did not perform and claimed travel expenses she did not incur (theif)
  • Admitted she submitted false claims of work and travel to her law firm
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • On 13 occasions, Leah turned in time entries to be billed to clients, for trips made out of town including preparation time and work done, when that work was not performed in the amount of $2,072.20
  • False/fabricated time billed to clients by Leah was $15,697.70

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oklahoma Supreme Court punished Leah by gifting her with a complimentary 12-month suspension of her law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Oklahoma are held to a much lower standard of conduct, Leah was never criminally charged with grand theft or fraud.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Leah practices at 9 East 4th Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
