Attorney Archanna Dittakavi of New York City; ethical gremlin

The state of New York presented Archana Dittakavi with a law license in 2012 after she graduated from the Brooklyn School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Archanna guilty of the following misconduct.

• Signed her client’s name to verification page of a paternity petition [forgery]
• Falsely notarized the false signature of her client
• Filed sham verification with false signature and notary with the Family Court
• Engaged in conduct involving deceit, dishonesty, and misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the patrons for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards punished Archanna by gifting her with a complimentary 2-month suspension of her law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in New York are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Archanna was never criminal charged with forgery.
