Judge Rosie Gonzalez of San Antonio, TX; ethical goblin

The State of Georgia presented Rose Speedlin Gonzalez with a law license in 201 after she graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

FYI: St. Mary’s is ranked as the 167th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The state Commission on Judicial Conduct has charged Rosie with engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Improperly made at least 8, separate posts on her Judicial Facebook page, regarding 12 attorneys wherein she congratulated those attorneys on winning jury verdicts in her court and lauded their results and professional backgrounds
  • Improperly lent the prestige of her judicial office to advance her private interests or that of other persons
  • Lauding the actions of attorneys constituted a willful and persistent violation of the Code of Judicial Conduct

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Jerry by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Rosie continues to sit as Judge of the County Court at Law No.  13 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.
