Attorney Yana Chechelnitsky of Elizabeth, NJ; convicted of assault

The state of New Jersey presented Yana Chechelnitsky with a law license in 2005 after she graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.  Yana also received a law license to practice in New York in 2006.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Yana guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Convicted of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose
  • Convicted of fourth-degree aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer
  • Convicted of third-degree aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Yana by gifting her with a complimentary 6-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2020) Lana practices with The Law Office of Yana Chechelnitsky LLC at 92 North Avenue East in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
