Attorney Torrence Harrison of Albuquerque, NM; ethical goblin

The state of New Mexico presented Torrence B. Harrison with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

The New Mexico Disciplinary Board found Torrey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Wrote forty-one (41) checks out of client funds for his personal use to pay rent, buy groceries, dine at various restaurants and meet other personal expenses totaling $4,677.76
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to maintain any records regarding client trust account funds
  • Failed to segregate and keep meticulous records pertaining to all funds belonging to his clients

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court punished Torrey by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2020), Torrey practices with the Office of the Public Defender at 505 Marquette Avenue NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
