Attorney Robert J. Smead of Larsen, WI; repeat offender

The state of Wisconsin presented Robert J. Smead with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School

In December 2011, the Wisconsin Surpeme Court found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct:
  1. Failed to file an appearance on behalf of a client after being paid $1500 to do so
  2. Failed to cooperate with a disciplinary investigation
  3. Engaged in the illegal practice of law while his license was suspended
  4. Refused to return unearned fees to client
  5. Failed to advise client his license was suspended
  6. Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client’s interest after he was discharged
  7. Refused to provide requested documents to the disciplinary board
This was Bobby’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. One year earlier in 2010, Bobby received consecutive 60-day suspensions of his law license.

As a consequence of his most recent misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

I suppose if Bobby’s goes for a trifecta in the future, the buffoons on the Supreme Court might punish him by providing him and his family with a 3-week, all paid for vacation to Tahiti.

As we speak (ca. April 2012) Bob practices law with the Smead Law Office in Larsen, Wisconsin
