Attorney Nikita Mackey of Charlotte, NC; cheater, serial offender

The State of North Carolina provided Nikita Vidal Mackey with a law license in 2003 after she graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Nikita guilty of the following misconduct.

Nikita’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to adequately communicate with a client
• Attempted to collect an excessive fee (cheater)
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Nikita!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Nikita by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Nikita’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Nikita!)
• Falsely denied being married when he filed personal bankruptcy petition
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Nikita by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Nikita’s 3^rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Conduct adversely reflects on fitness to practice
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Failed to timely file state and federal tax returns for four consecutive years
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to complete and obtain adoption on clients’ behalf

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Nikita by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 30-day suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Nikita even though it was her third bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree.
