Attorney Robert Lewis of Raleigh, NC; cheating slacker

The State of North Carolina provided Robert J. Lewis Jr. with a law license in 2006 after he graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to properly file or amended documents in client’s bankruptcy case
  • Charged a clearly excessive fee (cheater)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Charged client $7,000.00 in excess of the allowed $3,000.00 base fee
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to maintain client ledge for handling of funds he held in trust for the benefit of his clients
  • Failed to timely file documents in client bankruptcy proceedings
  • Falsely claimed in Bankruptcy Court that a staff member was the reason he failed to provide tax returns and pay advices until after a Show Cause action was filed
  • Disobeyed an obligation under the rules of a tribunal (Screw you, said Bobby!)
  • Failed to consult with his clients prior to taking steps in their case
  • Failed to adequately communicate with a client
  • Failed to consult with clients as to means by which their objectives were to be pursued
  • Failed to keep client informed about status of their matters

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Bobby by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee.

As one would suspect, Bobby fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.thelewislawfirm.com. Apparently, Bobby decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that he would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak, (ca. April 2020), Bobby practices with The Lewis Law Firm PA at 434 Fayetteville Street in Raleigh, North Carolina.
