Attorney Charles Morgan Jr. of Charlotte, NC; serial offender

The State of North Carolina provided Charles L. Morgan Jr. with a law license in 1981 after she graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Charlie guilty of the following misconduct.

Charlie’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to respond to client communications for over one year

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Charlie’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Conduct caused harm to employees of the Forensic Test Unit and their ability perform the functions of their office for the citizens of the State of North Carolina
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

Charlie’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to conduct mandatory quarterly reconciliations of his trust account
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to maintain client ledgers documenting all receipts and disbursements
  • Failed to identify in connection with trust account deposits the client on whose behalf the deposit was made
  • Used entrusted client funds for his personal benefit
  • Wake County Superior Court entered order prohibiting Charlies from handling entrusted client funds
  • Knowingly and intentionally violated court order re: handing of entrusted client funds (Screw you, said Charlie!)
  • Wake County Superior Court conducted a hearing and found Charlie guilty of criminal contempt of court for willfully disobeying the court’s order prohibiting him handling entrusted client funds

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Charlie by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee.

As we speak, (ca. April 2020), Charlie practices at 101 North McDowell Street in Charlotte, North Carolina.
