Attorney James Mattox of Statesville, NC; ethical ogre

The State of North Carolina provided James Pressly Mattox with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to compare total of subsidiary trust account ledgers with his general ledger balance
  • Failed to conduct mandatory quarterly reconciliations of his trust account
  • Failed to properly maintain and disburse entrusted funds
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to promptly disburse entrusted funds
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Jimmy by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee.

As one would suspect, Bobby fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.thelewislawfirm.com. Apparently, Bobby decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that he would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak, (ca. April 2020), Jimmy practices with The Law Office of J. Pressly Mattox PC at 102 West Broad Street in Statesville, North Carolina.
