Barrister Hilary Roberts of London, UK; ethical goblin

The Bar of England and Wales by Gray’s Inn provided Hilary Llewelyn Arthur Roberts with a law license in 1978 after she graduated from the University of Bristol School of Law.

The Bar Standards Board found Hilary guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Behaved in manner likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public places in Hilary or in the profession
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Hilary!)
  • Engaged in conduct which was likely to diminish public confidence in the legal profession or the administration of justice to otherwise bring the legal profession into disrepute
  • Failed to make payment to settle employment tribunal claim even after the making of a County Order for recovery of the money
  • Failed to comply with a Court Order (Up yours, said Hilary!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Barrister Misfits sitting on the Bar Standards Board punished Hilary by gifting her with a complimentary 2-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Hilary practices at 9 Park Place, CARDIFF in South Glamorgan, United Kingdom.
