Rev. Jerry Falwell Jr.: Today’s “1st Amendment” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Jerry. In the past, he has been the recipient of four (4) Awards in various categories. Those awards are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.

FYI: The 1st Amendment as to Freedom of the Press, etc. reads as follows.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

To establish himself as one of America’s leading supporters of the 1st Amendment and Freedom of the Press, Jerry did what any good Christian leader would do when the State of Virginia ordered all schools closed to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, he thumbed his nose at the order and reopened Liberty University.

When members of the press, Julia Rendleman, a freelance photographer for the New York Times and ProPublica journalist Alec MacGillis appeared on the Liberty campus in Lynchburg, Virginia, Jerry did what any respected Free Press advocate would have done, he contacted the local magistrate to have Julia and Alec arrested for trespassing.

In a lame effort at levity, Rev. Falwell told fellow right-wing loon Todd Starnes that he intended to sue the New York Times and ProPublica for defamation. Jerry previously scoffed at the Coronavirus pandemic by claiming it was an attempt to undermine President Donald “Small Hands Donnie” Trump.

I can’t wait for Jerry to file a sham defamation suit against the Times and ProPublica. He’ll surely loose because Jerry is “defamation proof.”

Shouldn’t be long before The Great Leader awards Jerry with the Presidential Medal of Freedom since he’s just as deserving as was Rush “The Doper” Limbaugh.
