Attorney Michael McEnery of Black Mountain, NC; thieving felon

The State of North Carolina provided Michael Kyle McEnery with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from Syracuse University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Convicted of felonious possession of stolen goods
  • Committed the crimes of breaking and entering his friends' residence and then stealing, possessing, and pawning the friends' stolen musical equipment
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation
  • Pled guilty to driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Arrested and charged with the felonies of obtaining property by false pretenses, possession of stolen property, larceny, and breaking and entering

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 5-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Mikey.

As we speak, (ca. April 2020), Mikey practices in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
