Attorney Robin Fussell of Charlotte, NC; scamming slacker

The State of North Carolina provided Robin Dale Fussell with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

• A HUD-1 settlement statement prepared by Robin and that he had the parties sign was false
• Recorded deed he was not authorized to record
• Knowingly and willfully misapplied property received in his fiduciary role as settlement agent
• Warranty deed filed by Robin misrepresented that the title was free and clear of all encumbrances when in fact the property remained encumbered by delinquent property taxes for 2005-2008
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation
• Made a false statement of material fact to a third person
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Closed short sales knowing representations made to the lien holder in the certification documents relied upon were not accurate
• Improperly delegated to non-attorney task of drafting deeds
• Failed to sufficiently review assistant’s work
• Misused entrusted funds
• Failed to deposit and maintain client earnest money in trust account
• Improperly deposited client earnest money into his personal account

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Robin by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee.
