Attorney Darryl Smith of Jersey City, NJ; ethical gnome

The State of New Jersey provided Darryl George Smith with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Darryl guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in gross neglect
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to explain a matter to a client to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Knowingly make a false statement of material fact to disciplinary authority (Screw you, said Darryl!)
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Darryl by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak, (ca. April 2020), Darryl practices at 383 Summit Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey.
